The mobile itself works on GSM900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900 and UMTS networks, effectively giving you world wide connectivity for the phone. The Samsung F500 has slim dimensions of 116 mm x 50.4 mm x 10.7 mm allowing it to slip easily into a pocket or bag, and is similar in weight to the "chocolate" phone.
The TFT display offers a combination of 256,000 colour variations as well as 176 x 220 pixel resolution. The screen is very focused and offers a sharp display which holds up well in strong sunlight.
As well as the unique swivel style, the Samsung F500 also offers a number of communication mediums apart from voice communication. These include SMS and MMS messaging facilities, as well as Bluetooth, USB connector and xHTML enabled WAP browser for improved internet viewing.
The camera facility has also moved ahead in line with recent developments and the Samsung F500 now offers a 2 megapixel device with a variety of pixel focus settings. The camera is situated at the rear of the handset and offers both traditional pictures and video recording. There is plenty of internal memory to store your favourite clips.
The phone also comes with a very useful personal organiser system which includes clock, alarm, calculator, calendar as well as Music and JAVA Games for those long journeys.
